WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR A GOOD CAUSE!

This fall and early winter, Bullitt County Public Library is taking part in Drop Your Drawers @ the Library, a cooperative effort with libraries all across the state. This project seeks to ensure that every child shows up to school and stays in school for the whole school day in clean underwear that fits. Underwear is a basic need and one that is easily forgotten. Schools are handing out underwear on a daily basis to children who need a clean pair because of accidents at school or issues at home. Because parents are often unable to bring fresh underwear to their children during school hours, accidents can cause children to miss valuable learning time in the classroom.
 

DROP YOUR DRAWERS @BCPL IN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER

What you can do: Drop off packages of NEW underwear at any BCPL location. Boys and girls sizes 4–16 needed.

Our goal: Collect 5,000 pairs of children’s underwear. All donations will go to local public elementary schools to help replenish their supply of emergency underpants and to provide direct assistance to each school’s Family Resource Center.

The campaign officially begins November 1st and continues through December 30th. But wait… You can begin helping now!
 

LOCAL BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS CAN BE SUPERHEROES TOO!

We are encouraging civic-minded businesses and organizations to help with our cause by collecting packages of underpants from their employees or members during the months of October and November. When library drop-off sites open in November, groups can drop off their donations at any Bullitt County Public Library location.

• Large group donations should be dropped off at Bullitt County Public Library NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 30TH to allow library staff adequate time to count donations. For individual donations, Drop Your Drawers continues through December 30th.
