502 869-7012 Pending Board approval, Shepherdsville Elementary FRC is partnering with metro United Way and our community to create a Build A Bed Program. Our program will provide 50 beds to our students that do not have beds. We believe that everyone deserves a good night sleep! Shepherdsville Elementary Family Resource Center and Metro Unitted Way are working together to find sponors for this program. Shepherdsville Elementary will serve as the building site. Media coverage will be of our building teams creating beds, and of the gym full of 50 beds! All of our sponors will be recognized!
We began our project when we heard thaat one of my students was sleeping on a large dog bed with his dog, and did not have a bed. We then started to explore others that may not have beds. We have students sleeping on the floor, on couches, and several children sharing small twin beds.
Local businesses and individuals can choose a variety of ways to sponsor.
Here is what we need:
Bed Sponsor $170.00

comforter

mattress cover
Businesses may also sponsor groups of items
50 comforters $1000.00
50 sheet sets $600.00
50 mattress covers $900.00
lumber costs $1900 total (partial amounts appreciated)
50 matresses $3150 total (partial amounts appreciated)
Food for volunteers that will be building beds. (local restaurants)
Bed Builders! (2 or 3 people from a business would be great. Please wear a shirt representing your business!
Any overage collected will be used for future Build a Bed programs in Bullitt County.
