SONICBernheim – Summer Solstice June 20 @ 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm Bernheim is a site-specific lecture/performance series exploring the relationships between sound, music, and nature. For the first SONICBernheim event of 2016 we will be joined on the summer solstice and full moon by musicologist Denise Von Glahn of Florida State University, as well as three local and regional musical performers. Bring a picnic and enjoy an adventurous evening of words and music! Lecture: Dr. Denise Von Glahn Curtis Mayes Orpheus Professor of Musicology Florida State University “Listening Beyond the Acoustic Horizon” (feat. a performance by Jon Silpayamanant and Angela Thomas) Performances: Bret Edward Berry (Louisville, KY) Chamber Cartel (Atlanta, GA) Arsenio Zignoto (Louisville, KY) Attendees will travel on foot from performance to performance. Chairs, blankets, flashlights, and picnics are welcome, but no alcohol will be permitted. Every effort will be made to accommodate attendees with mobility restrictions.
